ALM Swamped in RiverThe Almuñécar Fire Service had to rescue a driver whose van became swamped in Río Seco, while he was trying to drive across it.

The incident occurred in the early afternoon yesterday when the driver attempted to cross the river where the El Moruno lane reaches the river just up from the Ál Andalus high school on the other side.

The fire crew managed to reach the driver using an extendable ladder. The stranded van was towed out by a break-down lorry.

Both Almuñécar rivers are up after a total of 130 litres per square metre fell on the town between the early hours of yesterday during the next twelve hours, more or less.
