Full But More Come

The arrival of illegal immigrants is constant and barely a week goes by without news of another group of immigrants rescued at sea.

The logistical problem is immense: the temporary holding centre in the port can only legally retain them for 72 hours so that they can be identified, before moving them to a more permanent holding centre prior to repatriation.

The trouble is that the permanent centres are completely full which led to a bizarre incident in the Evening of Saturday the 27th January, when there was no other option than to simply release them and take them to the bus station.

With no money for a ticket, there was nowhere to go, so the Central Government and the Town Hall agreed to house them in the sports pavillion for the night.

What’s the answer?
