Salobreña Choir Anniversary

SAL 25th Choir AnniversaryLast Saturday saw the 25th Anniversary Concert of the Coral Villa de Salobreña, with both former and present members of the choir participating.

The municipal auditorium was full as the choir sung numbers from their repertoire over the last quarter of a century, performed all over the province, as well as venues in the rest of Spain and abroad.

The concert had four parts and began with renditions backed by the Salobreña Municipal Band. In the second part the choir performed theme songs from films, such as Moon River and the from the pop musical, Chiqitita, amongst others.

The third part were ethnic themes that had formed part of the repertoire during 2007 and 2012 when José Luis Serrano led the choir. This part also included pupils from the Centar Rock School.

At the end of the choir concert, the Councillor for Culture handed over a commemorative plaque, accompanied by the Mayor, María Eugenia Rufino. Not to be left out, the municipal band and the rock school also received commemorative plaques to mark the occasion.
