provincial lawcourts of granadaThe Public Prosecutor in Granada has recommended 4.5 years’ imprisonment each for the helper and fiscal consultant of an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s.

The two accused reportedly withdrew the quantity of 292,504 euros from the 90-year old’s bank account between January 2008 and December 2010.

The home-helper, Sra. T.B. had been hired by the victim’s two brothers. The other accused, J.L.V.R., had an ample power-of-attorney to manage the woman’s bank accounts.

Taking advantage of the victim’s condition they convinced her to sign blank withdrawal slips so that they could bleed off her savings.

The court hearing will be held today in the Audiencia de Granada.
