ALM Porsche MeetThe IV Meeting Porsche Classic Granada 2017, took place in Almuñécar yesterday, Sunday the 8th, with around 50 classic Porsches participating.

The Chiringuito on Playa Calabajío was chosen as the starting point, where a reception was held. After that they cruised, slickly, around the main streets of Almuñécar

The meet was organised by Weepora Porsche Club and coordinated with the Almuñécar Town Hall, who supplied the policing and an escort for the event.

But the Almuñécar visit is just one stop in the IV Meeting Porsche Classic Granada 2017, because they have been touring the province. And this year is special because it is the 40th anniversary of the Porsche 928.

The Porsche that stole the show, though, was a 63-year-old one with Avila plates, which is valued at 400,000 euros.

Anyway, after touring the town they drove back to the Playa Calabajío restaurant for lunch and left the cars parked up there so that people could have a good butcher’s (look).

Editorial comment: fortunately for the classic Porsche owners, I didn’t make them green with envy by bringing my 11-year-old Suzuki Samurai, complete with bumbers attached with twisted wire and a metal coat hanger as an aerial for my non-functioning radio…
