AXA ambulance AccidentAn ambulance was involved in a collision in Torrox around 07.40h on the 5th at the entrance to a tunnel on the eastbound lanes of the A-7.

The ambulance and the other vehicle involved, a lorry, blocked the lanes so that the autovia had to be temporarily closed.

Several people had to be cut out of the amublance and one of them, the paramedic, was evacuated by helicopter in a critical state.

Editorial comment: there is always an element of irony involved where an ambulance is involved in a crash – you can’t help wondering just how unlucky a patient can be.
