Best Costa Tropical Chef
Naturally, the Town Hall has been very enthusiastic and cooperative with this event as it promotes subtropical fruits and the hostelry sector.
There will be a maximum of ten chefs competing, but will be open to all professional chefs whether working or not, on the Costa Tropical. Each will have to knock up four dishes for the judging panel to prod, sniff and nibble.
The hotel’s chef, Daniel Alejandro Bastón, explained that competitors will have 20 minutes to prepare each dish, which includes cleaning up the cooking area for the next competitor.
This being the Costa Tropical, four ingredients will be obligatory: squid, shallots, mango and avocado.
So if you are a professional chef and you want to enter, the you must supply your full name and a description of the dishes you intend to make.
Hmmm… Could be a sneaky way of acquiring the culinary secrets of rivals… Just joking!
Right, so it kicks off at 16.00h on the 24th, however, the order in which competitors will participate will be established the day before at 20.30h.
First Prize is 200 euros, Second is 100 and third is 50 euros. Competitors will have to produce a 15-euros entrance fee.
