Toddler Wanders the Streets

AND JerezThe Policía Local took charge of a 3-year old at 01.20h on Sunday the 15th in the centre of Jerez de la Frontera, who had been found wandering barefoot and in his pyjamas.

The police managed to obtain information about his parents by questioning the child. Some of the answers, as can be expected given his young age, were contradictory.

The police patrol first contacted a specialised minors’ unit belonging to the Andalusia autonomic police, as well as a minors magistrate, who ordered that the child be taken to a minors centre until the parents were found.

Finally at 04.12h that same morning the parents were located and the child handed over. Apparently, the child had opened front door whilst his parents slept and wandered out. The temperature at the time was around zero degrees.

Editorial comment: It seems strange that a toddler would not only be able to open a door, but also a presumably locked one.
