The Policía Nacional has fined a 36-year-old man for being the recipient of a postal package containing pistachios, stuffed with compressed marijuana.

The package had been sent from Oakland (California) and contained 42 grammes of this drug.

The package was intercepted at the post office in the north of the city of Granada because it literally smelt of marijuana, so the police waited to see who would come to pick it up.

The pistachios shells had had their nuts removed and been crammed with marijuana. The ‘special nuts’ were then mixed with an assortment of other nuts in a sealed bag.
