Owing to a series of burglaries in Salobreña, the Policía Local and the Guardia Civil are carrying out investigations, says the Mayor, Mª Eugenia Rufino.

The break-ins, which caused not an inconsiderable amount of consternation in Salobreña, occurred during the penultimate weekend of October and the Mayor sent out several messages to reassure locals that the town’s police forces were working towards arresting those responsible.

“I am in permanent contact with the heads of the police,” she said, adding, “we are working in two spheres: investigating the break-ins, and stepping up measures to prevent further ones.”

Although the Guardia Civil have some leads, no arrests have been made to date.
